Summary
You have chosen to fix a framed mirror. To do this you
will need to complete the following 5 steps:
1 Positioning the mirror
2 Marking the top at the centre
3 Marking the cord hanging point
4 Positioning the hook
5 Hanging the mirror
Tools
Measure, screwdriver, drill, spirit level, bradawl.
Materials
Picture hook
Step 1 - Positioning the mirror
Hold the mirror against the wall in the desired
position. Mark the wall at the two top corners.
Measure between the points to find the central
position and mark. For an oval or round mirror
just mark the top position.
Step 2 - Marking the top at the centre
Lay the mirror on its front. On the top edge of
the mirror at the back mark the centre.
Step 3 - Marking the cord hanging point
Pull the cord, with the hook, towards the mark
you have made until it is taught and mark the
position of the hook holes on the back of the
mirror. Measure the distance between these points
and the centre point at the top of the mirror.
Step 4 - Positioning hook
Use this distance to measure down from the centre
point you marked on the wall. Mark the position of
the hook here. Using a hammer, attach the hook
using the pin or nails provided.
Step 5 - Hanging the mirror
Your mirror should now hang perfectly in the
position you have chosen. Ensure it is level by
sliding it along the cord and checking with a
spirit level until it hangs perfectly straight.
